View of the Pacific Ocean from Nepenthe in Big Sur. The Highway 1 route just reopened after a month-long closure so my husband and I drove down for the weekend to support some local business. While the more upscale hotels were helicoptering guests in, the family restaurants suffered a lack of customers.

I broke my engagement ring a week ago. Thinking maybe I should replace it with this.

Over the weekend I hiked out of bounds for the first time ever and snowboarded some nice tree runs. It’s sort of hard to see with the perspective in the photo but those little line of dots off to the left are people.

Going on week two with a broken elbow. I didn’t anticipate how difficult it would be to go about my day-to-day art direction with only one hand. Luckily, being left handed makes me somewhat ambidextrious.

Yesterday I did a one-armed photo shoot of my friend’s new baby- Otis Stone. The real gold from this shoot is under wraps until they’re ready to go public, but I will share it as soon as they do.

I know it’s old, but Jeremy Cowart’s Voices of Haiti project is poignant and beautiful.

A year after the earthquake, it’s important to remember tragedies don’t stop just because they aren’t in the news anymore.
