I keep meaning to do the Manta Ray night dive. Not going to the Big Island next week, but it’s on my check list.

Transforming House

no garage door? no problem!
oh, san francisco ♥

I almost move into this place. Personally I think the bay-windows-as-garage is genius. It maintains the architectural integrity of the building while providing much needed parking in a busy neighborhood (the panhandle).

I wouldn’t care so much about this damn wedding, but I’m surrounded by Brits at work.

View of the Pacific Ocean from Nepenthe in Big Sur. The Highway 1 route just reopened after a month-long closure so my husband and I drove down for the weekend to support some local business. While the more upscale hotels were helicoptering guests in, the family restaurants suffered a lack of customers.

Love this.

Just found out I’m going to Hawaii in three weeks. I shot this series of tilt-shift photos two years ago in Waipio Valley. The hike was sort of intense (you have to go down the steepest road in the U.S. to get there) and the roads were washed out so I swam out into the jungle and found these houses amidst swamp-like conditions.

Free Fall. And trust the landing.

It’s the anniversary of the 1906 San Francisco earthquake today, and we had a mini quake. Here’s one of my favorite photos of SF, taken just after the 1906 quake on a kite.

My friends have been having a lot of babies lately, so I’ve been shooting a lot of really fun birth announcements. Glad I have so many friends with a sense of humor.

I’m a great believer in luck and I find that the harder I work the more I have of it.
